Our Story
2015:
Waldhoff was started by a Swiss Watch Designer, and Manfred Starck Uhren Gmbh, a watch manufacturer based in Pforzheim, to create a line of premium mechanical watches. We combined the skills of a Swiss watch designer with the experience and time-tested craft of a German watch manufacturer.
Our primary goal is to create extraordinary mechanical timepieces, entirely assembled and calibrated by hand, in-house, in our own workshop.
We are product people and want our products to speak for themselves.
2017:
We launched a series of successive crowdfunding campaigns on Kickstarter and Indiegogo.
The success of our campaign came as a surprise, and encouraged us to continue developing new products.
2020:
On July 28, Fung Chi Yeung, the longtime friend and movement supplier of Starck Uhren Gmbh, has joined Waldhoff as a partner and shareholder. Fung Chi Yeung is an expert in complex movements from the Far East in particular, and has been working with us in testing, customization and technical improvements before the movements ship to us. He will be in charge of logistics, servicing and repairs on products in all of Asia, Australia and North America, while we continue to handle orders in Europe, the Middle-East and Africa. We look forward to the benefits of our expanded collaboration, which will include ever more fascinating products.
2022:
We made the decision to move away from assembling all watches ourselves in Germany, due to the advancing age of our German staff, the increased volume of products and the logistical and tax burden of shipping parts and movements to Germany.
As a result, our products will gradually lose the "Made in Germany" markings. All inventories bearing the label will continue to be assembled in Germany until they are gone. All orders placed within the EU will continue being assembled in Germany, whether they bear the Made in Germany label or not.
Going forward, Waldhoff will continue to source parts from Switzerland, Japan, Taiwan and China, with an increased bias towards Swiss parts, where possible.
